While the Call of Duty series continued to exploit historical war settings, Battlefield showed us what modern warfare can be like. The best rifles, cool armored vehicles, air support, radio conversations, decent destructibility and detailed maps — Battlefield 2 looked cool, and even now it can give odds to many boring military shooters.
