About The Game

The plot

The game features an alternate course of history in which Kennedy survived an assassination attempt and significant funds were invested in space exploration. The action takes place in 2032 on the TranStar space station. We will play as a certain Morgan Yu, on whom experiments were conducted to improve the brain (the player chooses the gender of the character himself). Research was underway, and our Morgan lived like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day until the station was attacked by unknown alien creatures. And who, in your opinion, will have to solve this mess? To Morgan, of course.

Game world

Prey has a lot of similarities to Dishonored (you can feel the hand of Arkane Studios). Beautifully designed game locations, multiple pathways, well–drawn characters - that's what Prey will welcome you with. The TranStar station is teeming with a variety of notes, audio files, safes and computers that add a lot of usefulness to the plot and gameplay.

Gameplay

After Prey, you risk becoming paranoid, because facial expressions (i.e. alien creatures) can take the form of absolutely any object, so I strongly recommend that you be on your guard.

Morgan will have a pretty good arsenal to fight the alien plague. The first weapon will be a wrench, with which it will not be difficult to cope with small mimics, but against phantoms (more mimics) you need something more serious - a shotgun, for example. There is also a kind of glue gun in the game that shoots a kind of instantly solidifying foam. With this thing, you can both kill enemies (turn mimics into stone and then smash them with a wrench) and use them exclusively for peaceful purposes (in order to build a ladder and find a workaround).

There is also an RPG component, which presents 3 branches of development.:

  • The scientist
  • Engineer
  • The fighter

The game also has the opportunity to develop mimic skills (moving into objects, etc.), but leveling up such skills also has disadvantages – turrets will identify you as an enemy.

The game's development takes place through neuromodes (we'll find them as we go through) – special devices that alter Morgan's brain. Which branches you develop depends only on you and your passing style.

Conclusion

So, what do we have? A promising project from excellent developers, which can be played by both PC users (most players will be able to meet the system requirements) and console players. The game's release date is set for May 5, 2017, and I can confidently say that this game is worth playing.
