This is not another annual sports simulator that changes T-shirts and a couple of last names from year to year. The most popular sport is taking on a new look. A fast and thoughtful game. First you rush at full speed to the ball, and then turn the car in flight so that the ball flies straight into the goal!
That was the name of the first Psyonix studio game. The name was difficult to remember and even pronounce, but it fully reflected the game. Translated, it turns out to be "Supersonic Acrobatic Combat Vehicles with Jet Engines." This game was released in 2008 exclusively on PS3. But due to its imperfection and clumsiness, it did not gain popularity among the players.
The sequel turned out to be several times better. The studio dropped the long name and renamed the game Rocket League, which is easy to remember and pronounce. This time, the game was released on the next generation of the PS4 console and on Steam. Presenting itself to the players in a new guise, the game immediately gained huge popularity.
The main idea has been preserved - two teams, in five minutes you need to score as many goals as possible. In case of a tie, the game goes to the first goal. The size of the teams is from one to four players. In the classic form, they play three on three.
Cars do double jumps, somersaults, explode and fly into each other at full speed! Thanks to these tricks, the ball spins in flight or is thrown to the other end of the field. In addition, everyone has boosters that are used to knock out the ball, save their goal, or eliminate opponents. The game has a visual modification that does not affect the gameplay in any way. The hit box, turning radius and speed of each car will remain unchanged.
