Italy appears in all its glory: a rocky island with a villa and vineyards, a shady forest at the foot of the Apennine Mountains, a seaside town with colorful houses and narrow streets. The locations are diverse and beautifully designed. Although the graphics are not striking to the eye, overall, the game looks very decent.
The developers finally realized what the problem was in the previous installments, and gave the player complete freedom of action. The game consists of a series of open cards, each of which has both main and side tasks. There are many ways to achieve the goal. You can kill enemies from a long range (the main thing is not to forget to change your position), or sneak behind enemy lines, simultaneously shooting enemies with a silenced pistol and in close combat.
Carl Fairbairn's arsenal includes a pistol, automatic and sniper rifles, as well as mines, grenades, etc. After a certain number of kills from a weapon, perks are unlocked that improve its characteristics. Each 5th level of character development opens access to passive skills (reducing bullet damage, etc.). The game also has pre-noise cartridges, with which you can silently shoot enemies, but their supply is limited.
The famous feature of the game, X-RayKillCam (a demonstration of the flight of a bullet into a victim, showing on an X-ray exactly where we hit), has been improved. Now it works both in close combat and in explosions (it shows exactly where the fragments hit). Although the thing is interesting, it gets boring pretty quickly, fortunately, it can be disabled in the settings. The gameplay largely depends on the difficulty you choose, which affects the enemies and the realism of the game. If light shooting is no different from shooting at a shooting range, then complex shooting will have to take into account factors such as the brand of the rifle, ballistics, and even the pulse. So, what do we have? Good levels-action game with lots of pathways, nice graphics and interesting gameplay. It will take approximately 20 hours to complete. In order to prolong the gameplay, you can buy DeluxeEdition, which will open access to 12 DLC. Both PC users will be able to play (but not every computer will be able to meet the system requirements), and console users.
In order to protect themselves from fans of freebies, the developers installed Denuvo protection, but the RG "Mechanics" were still able to bypass it.
The game's release date is February 14, 2017.
